About the Role

We are seeking experienced ADI-R/ADOS-2 Autism Assessors for our assessment and treatment service for adults and children across the UK. The service provides fast, evidence based diagnostic assessments, safe medication initiation and titration and ongoing reviews.

You will deliver high-quality Autism Assessments and diagnostic decisions.

The role focuses on assessment and diagnosis.

This is a contractor role based on a Remote (UK-based) model

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Conduct comprehensive ADI-R developmental history assessments with parents, carers or other appropriate informants
  • Administer, code, interpret and document ADI-R assessments accurately
  • Where appropriately trained, administer, score and interpret ADOS-2 assessments using the correct module 
  • Review referral information, questionnaires, educational records, previous reports and other relevant evidence
  • Gather detailed information about development, communication, social interaction, behaviour, sensory needs and functional impact
  • Recognise masking and camouflaging, including presentations in females and adults 
  • Produce clear, accurate and timely clinical notes, scoring documents and report contributions
  • Provide practical, person-centred and neuro-affirming recommendations
  • Communicate sensitively with patients, families and professionals
  • Identify and escalate safeguarding or clinical risk concerns

Essential Criteria

  • A professional qualification in a relevant clinical discipline, including psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, medicine, paediatrics, psychiatry or social work
  • Current registration with the relevant UK statutory professional regulator, such as HCPC, NMC, GMC or Social Work England
  • No professional restrictions to prevent undertaking autism diagnostic assessment work
  • Formal recognised training in administration and coding of the ADI-R
  • A verifiable ADI-R training certificate
  • Evidence of supervised practice or competency development following training 
  • Recent experience independently administering, coding and reporting ADI-R assessments
  • Experience working within an autism or neurodevelopmental diagnostic pathway
  • Experience gathering detailed developmental histories
  • Experience contributing to multidisciplinary diagnostic formulation
  • Knowledge of recognised autism diagnostic criteria, NICE guidance and the limitations of structured assessment tools
  • Knowledge of differential diagnoses and commonly co-occurring conditions
  • Experience of safeguarding, risk assessment and clinical report writing
  • Evidence of recent autism-related continuing professional development
